Apply Soap or Paint
Another option to consider is looking at what you can do to apply soap or certain types of paint to the outside of the window. You could look at something like tempera paint in order to create a film that is visible to the birds, but at the same time not negatively impacting the window in the process. Alternatively soap will work as a way of helping to deter birds from trying to fly into the window and distract them or divert their attention so that they are aware there is an obstacle there, and they can avoid it.
Bird Tape
One of the key reasons for birds flying into windows is that they see their reflection in the window and believe it to be another bird. ABC bird tape can help to rectify this issue, by providing the correct spacing of dots across your window. This translucent tape makes your windows visible to birds, without actually obstructing the outside views, and this makes it the perfect choice when you are looking at excellent and non-intrusive ways of being able to prevent birds flying into your window, so this is certainly something you should be looking to improve upon.
Angled Blinds
Angled blinds are also a great option when you want to reduce the risk of birds flying into your windows, and this is one of the best ways of being able to achieve this. These blinds are a great choice for helping you decorate your windows and ensure you have unobstructed views of your garden in the process as well. So, try to think about the right kinds of blinds to choose for your property, and this is something that you need to think about as much as you can.
Mosquito Screens
Great for keeping the mozzies at bay, these screens are also really useful for preventing birds flying into your windows, and this is a method that you should look to use where possible. Try to get one of these nets that is made of dark mesh, so that it is easily visible to birds, and you can customise the mesh so that it covers the window completely. Of course, you may not want to do this, and it depends largely on the aesthetic you want for your home, but this is certainly a viable and effective option.
Use a Bird Net
Bird nets are custom made pest control devices to help prevent birds from flying into your windows, and this is certainly something you should consider. These nets are incredibly useful if this is a problem you have faced in the past, and you should try to look for the durable, lightweight polypropylene material so that you get a lightweight and long lasting net that is going to help you keep wild birds at bay. When you use it, the netting should sit around at least three inches from the glass in order to ensure that impact is avoided in the event that a bird may lose control and fly into the window.
Awnings
If it suits the design, style, and aesthetic of your property, you might like to consider some kind of awning to cover and protect the windows. This is bound to reduce the risk of birds flying into your windows, as well as adding a feature to the home that will help it to look good, and provide some shade and shelter.
